Here I am reading in John 6. Right after the feeding of the thousands with the loaves and fishies and the disciples get on a boat and for 4 hours they are rowing across this body of water when all of a sudden Jesus comes walking across the water to join up with them. They're freaked out, etc. and then Jesus gets into the boat with them.
Check out what is said next though, "v.21 Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going."
It's worded exactly the same in the English Standard Version and the New King James Version.
